Shiffa – Organic Growth and a Bright Future
As a socially-responsible skincare company, we believe it is very important to contribute to the world we live in and therefore a portion of Shiffa sales are donated to charity .In addition to advocating philanthropic efforts, we pay particular attention to our selection of suppliers worldwide. In order to get the best and pure ingredients, such as Lebanon, Oman, India, Madagascar, Egypt, Morocco to name a few.
Dr. Lamees says, “The past few years have been spent finding and nurturing the relationships with farmers and producers of the highest quality ingredients. We found the best jasmine in Egypt, our frankincense from Lebanon & Oman. Our organic argan oil is sourced from a women’s cooperative farm in Morocco. It is extremely rewarding to work with farmers such as these, whose production ensures jobs and work for a whole community.”
What is also wonderful is that on the journey of selecting ingredients for Shiffa products Dr. Lamees says, “discovering the sources of quality ingredients was and is an enlightening experience and reveals the essences of truth in myth that have been passed on from one generation to another”.
Shiffa has contributed to the Cameron School Project. This initiative was launched by International Aid Society (AIA) at the American University in Dubai (AUD)in 2009 along wtih the Clinton Global Initiative University.
AIA worked with Partners for Community Development Initiative (PCDI) Cameroon in Ndop-Bamunka, in autumn 2008, and raised $4700 to fund the Teacher Training Seminars PCDI had been conducting at the Ndop office.
In 2010 they are hoping to build a 4 room school for 200 pupils in Umbissa.
